Navigating the Risks of Social Media

In this course learners will explore the potential risks associated with social media use and develop strategies to minimise their impact. They will examine the consequences of sharing information online, understand how opinions and content can influence others, and recognise how social media platforms can be used to spread misinformation by individuals, businesses and organisations.

Understanding the Manosphere and Incel Culture

This course provides learners with an understanding of the manosphere, incel culture and their growing influence in online spaces. Learners will explore the key beliefs, language and online behaviours associated with these communities, recognise signs that an individual may be vulnerable to harmful influences and discover practical approaches for promoting healthy relationships, positive role models and resilience against online radicalisation.

Keeping Young People Safe Online

Within this course learners will gain an understanding of the risks that children and young people may face online. They will explore online safety across websites, apps, gaming platforms, social media and virtual reality environments, while learning how to identify harmful content, recognise signs of online abuse and use effective strategies to safeguard and support those at risk.

Staying Safe Online

In this course learners will develop an understanding of how to protect themselves and others when using the internet. They will explore the risks associated with sharing personal information online, recognise common scams and cyber threats, learn how to maintain privacy and security on social media, and identify the signs of cyberbullying and online grooming.

Understanding Bullying and Discrimination

This course introduces learners to the different forms of bullying and discrimination, including cyberbullying. Learners will explore the factors that may place children and young people at risk, recognise the signs and effects of bullying, and develop an understanding of how to prevent bullying, support those affected and access appropriate sources of help and guidance.

Peer-on-Peer Abuse

Within this course learners will gain an understanding of peer-on-peer abuse and the different forms it can take. They will learn to distinguish between harmless interactions and harmful behaviours, explore the impact abuse can have on individuals and relationships, and develop the knowledge needed to support others, respond appropriately and seek help when required.
